Kimi Makaiau

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Business Management, Hawaii Pacific University

Kimi has over 15 years of experience in project and grants management, community and events planning, and natural resource conservation. Her professional career has allowed her to work with and alongside many Native Hawaiian communities, organizations, and supporters, which inspired her to learn about Hawaii’s complex land-use policies and planning issues. She joined the Community Design Center in 2021, and is also a University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Department of Urban and Regional Planning M.A. Candidate. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Maunalua Fishpond Heritage Center and the Fishers’ Working Group for the Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Aquatic Resources.
