University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa: Paint Palette

The built environment at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa is composed of a spectrum of architectural styles set against the background of an arboretum. Deep, cross-cultural research into color theory and architectural influence has resulted in a refresh of the color palette utilized to paint the exteriors of all built structures on the Mānoa campus. The exterior palette is complemented by a photographic survey of all major existing structures, along with a detailed analysis of color percentages and distributions.

Building upon this work, a complementary interior color palette was also developed for key learning spaces across the campus.
