DOD Emergency Operation Center Site Selection

The State of Hawaiʻi, Department of Defense engaged the UHCDC to assist with a site selection study for possible new locations for an Emergency Operations Center on O‘ahu. The Hawaiʻi DOD is charged with “providing for the safety, welfare, and defense of the people of Hawaiʻ” and “maintains its readiness to respond to the needs of the people in the event of disasters, either natural or human-caused”. The future EOC is the physical embodiment of Hawaiʻi DOD’s multi-agency collaboration that includes the Hawaiʻi Emergency Management Agency, Hawaiʻi National Guard, and State Office of Homeland Security.
