Holistic Housing Handbook

The Holistic Housing Handbook was developed as a follow-up to the “Future of Hawai‘i’s Housing” exploratory design research project, through a close collaboration between the Hawai‘i Public Housing Authority (HPHA) and the UHCDC. This multi-year effort, made possible by a team of students, educators, architects, state officials, and industry partners, centers on designing “housing for all”. The handbook presents a broad framework for the long term planning of resilient communities, rooted in learnings from the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.
