Judith Stilgenbauer, MLA, ASLA, is an associate professor in landscape architecture and urban design, and the current graduate chair at the School of Architecture. Her creative work in teaching, applied research, and professional practice focuses on the role of process, performance, production, and placemaking in ecological urbanism and public open space design across diverse spatial and temporal scales.

Stilgenbauer has lectured and published widely and is frequently invited to serve on awards hurries. In her applied research Judith Stilgenbauer examines the role of process, performance and placemaking in ecological urbanism and public open space design across diverse spatial and temporal scales. In recent years, Stilgenbauer’s creative work has focused on urban land-water relationships and adaptive design for coastal resilience.
